Winter Celebrations & Collaborations

Dear Friends of Novalis Ubuntu
The Second Quarter was an adventure for us at Novalis, and also for the Country as we managed to get through the elections, birthing a new order after 30 years. The angst this produced was salved both by the world Rugby & Cricket games recently, as well as having a new dream for the coming years as a Nation.
At the office, we have been preparing our resource mobilization strategies and request emails as Novalis will still need your support, vibrationally, socially and financially. We are also preparing our programmes for 2024, upskilling ourselves whilst finding the right people that are destined to join us in this new cycle.
Ms Roberts is settling-in well; as Mr Brown enjoys his first ‘holidays’ in 3 years. Capt Randall Petersen gets recruited by a hospital nearby as their security ‘man’; and the SA Scouts and Cadets NPO under Randall’s leadership, received an invitation to take up offices at the Cape Town Castle – how perfect is that! Zolani joined as garden and DIY volunteer, and Roland started mending furniture as well as constructs new front steps for our Centre. Mrs Phila Nkozu steps down from the Board – we salute her and thank her for her conscious committed care in her board function over many years and lately mandate for ‘personnel’. Nolizo Ncata joined ‘resource mobilisation’ as a volunteer.
We were pleased to host TTBISA training of some 100 young adults getting ready for working in the Tourism Industry, and also glad for the regulars – Thrift Fest, Healers Rod Witbooi and Natalie Woodman, Mafukuzela Fisheries holding office here, MKP and AA.
As you may have heard, the Cape Storms were mighty. The Novalis Centre held well but unfortunately lost one of the skylight panes in the wind-storm. Thanks to Henry and Mathe for temporarily closing the gap. With the massive down-pour, we saw a dam rising next door at neighbouring Social Services property. For the rest, our team has been pruning trees, and getting the garden in shape for the Spring, all before the big rains came down. The Winter Edition of Link Up Magazine is in the works.
We want to thank Charlotte Mostert from TLC Social Media, Hazel Suttill and Lynn Dreyer for their social media support during this quarter. Our CEO has been writing a 4 part series on the history of Novalis since its inception prior to its registration in 1984 as part of its 40th Anniversary Year. You will find these on the website for those interested.
Networking continued with world-wide web in the Anthroposophical Society; with OASA and Social Sciences research group. Interfaith collaborations continued with Athlone Mosque and Emissaries Global Interfaith Project. Together with Interfaith collaborators, we are planning to host a Peace Concert on the 21st September together with Rosa Choir, Gate House Centre, and others – see link. This will celebrate Novalis 40th Birthday as well.
We tested having our ‘gobble and gossip’ Fridays: and enjoyed another N-S dialogue with the Sofia Association in Sweden.
Harvest includes ‘honey from the Bees in our Garden’, and well-received Funding coming in from Friends from all over the World – THANK YOU SO MUCH. Our banking details are on the website – please send your gifts as you can to help us continue. We are not meeting a balanced budget yet. Thank you for your ideas and prayers too. We remain strong in our mission to bring knowledge and know-how to those who are responsive & recognise education as the most powerful weapon we have, to overcome our challenges.
We are thrilled to be doing this work together as a Team, we trust that you enjoy our updated news.
