In recent years, The Association SOFIA has supported The Novalis Ubuntu Institute with organisational development and now cooperates, with the assistance of Forum Syd, on the A Chance For Every Child Project. Further cooperation is planned for the Ithemba Project.
The Association SOFIA
The Association SOFIA is an organisation within the Swedish anthroposophical movement, founded in 2002. The organisation is based in Järna outside Stockholm and has members country-wide with partner organisations spread throughout the world including, India, South Africa and Kenya. SOFIA supports projects within three different areas: environment/agriculture, education, and healthcare/care giving. All the projects that are financed by SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) through SOFIA have a human rights-based approach, supporting organisations within civil society.
The Novalis Ubuntu Institute – SOFIA Association Trainee Exchange Program
The Novalis Ubuntu Institute and our partner in the A Chance for Every Child project, SOFIA Association, offers a traineeship programme for Swedish youth aged between 20 and 30 years old. The traineeship offers applicants the opportunity to participate and experience working with The Novalis Ubuntu Institute and our projects.
Forum Syd
Forum Syd is a development aid organisation, with around 160 member organisations. These Swedish civil society organisations work together with human and civil rights as well as facilitate popular participation around the globe. Forum Syd is the largest civil society platform in Sweden. The work centres on enabling people to organise to claim their rights and take control of their lives; for it is only then that democracy can grow, resources can be distributed more fairly, and poverty can be reduced.
